Buddhism was brought into existence by Prince Siddhartha (christened Gautama Buddha after enlightenment) in India around 2500 years ago. Some of the greatest people in history were Buddhists including His Holy Highness Dalai Lama, Emperor Ashoka and Priyadarshini, his daughter. Today, it is one of the prevalent religions in the Far-East including regions like Tibet, China, Nepal and includes a huge disciple-following in the West. Unlike other religions of humanity, practicing Buddhism is easy and straightforward. You are not required to officially convert into Buddhism. Almost anyone can turn Buddhist by acknowledging some essential Buddhism facts that are elaborated below.

Two sects – Theraveda Buddhism and Mahayana Buddhism

The Theraveda sect concentrates on meditation and yoga to attain spiritual ‘nirvana’ and is atheist in nature, whereas the Mahayana sect revolves around prayers, rituals and deities like Zen, Pure Land, etc. to attain liberation of the soul. Theraveda Buddhism is practiced in South-East Asia and Mahayana Buddhism is followed by the Chinese and Japanese followers.

Buddhism – based on practicality and not irrational speculations
Gautama Buddha, it is widely believed, attained Enlightenment under the ‘Bodh Gaya’ banyan tree, after which he refused to believe anything that could not be put into practice. He urged his followers to not debate about the existence of God, about the oneness or God or superiority of religion and simply follow the four ‘Noble Truths’ specified to ease suffering.

Rejection of the ‘rebirth’ cycle
As is popularized by Hinduism, the concept of the soul or the ‘atman’ leaving form on death and simply moving onto another life, called rebirth, was discarded by Gautama Buddha. ‘No life form once having left the Earth comes back to life’ is his theory. He believed that the Universe is an inn and we are all travelers trying to escape sorrow and distress.

Objective of living
Buddhism preaches that the goal of human life is to overcome sorrow – however, it is quick to point out that no one really manages to escape sorrow in life. The major reasons for being tied down with melancholy is that humans are constantly on the pursuit of materialistic objects which might quench desire but seldom brings true happiness.

The Three Safe Havens for Buddhists
In order to escape sorrow and abandon the pursuit of worldly objects, every Buddhist follower ought to seek protection under the ‘Three asylums of Buddhism’ – the Buddha, the Sangha and the Dharma. The Buddha stands for Enlightenment, the Sangha stands for the fellow Buddhist community and the Dharma stands for Buddhist teachings.

The Three superstitions to be avoided
On all accounts, one must strive to avoid the three aberrations of Ignorance, Hatred and Anger as they corrupt your soul and make it impossible to attain salvation.

The Three claims of life
Buddhism preaches that a person has not yet attained nirvana (or is still materialistic) if he/she has the following three nuances, Anicca, Dukkha and Anatta. Anicca stands for change in the mood, Dukkha stands for pessimism and an insatiate spirit, Anatta stands for no self control.

The Four Noble Truths of Buddhism
Buddhism strongly urges its followers to accept the ‘Four Noble Truths’ as specified by the Gautama Buddha. The truths are as follows:
1.	Life is full of suffering.
2.	The more you fancy materials and the more you are attached to them, the more you suffer.
3.	You can cease suffering.
4.	In order to cease suffering, you must follow the ‘Noble Eightfold Path’.

The Noble Eightfold Path of Buddhism
The Noble Eightfold Path of Buddhism is elaborated in the following manner.
1.	Proper Conviction
2.	Proper Ambition
3.	Proper Dialogue
4.	Proper Demeanor
5.	Proper Source of Income
6.	Proper Struggle
7.	Proper Mindfulness
8.	Proper Meditation and Attaining Nirvana

Four Vows to be Undertaken by Monks
Every Buddhist Monk needs to abide by the Four Vows prescribed by Gautama Buddha. The Vows are given below:
1.	I promise to release my fellow humans from suffering and sorrow.
2.	I promise to put an end to the immeasurable sorrows and conflicts between my fellow humans.
3.	I promise to abide by the Laws of Dharma stated by the Buddha.
4.	I promise to follow the true and holy path prescribed by the Buddha.

The Five Rules of Buddhism
Buddhism requires you to follow the following ‘Five Rules’ if you are to get rid of all your sufferings and attain spiritual nirvana.
1.	You must not kill your fellow living creatures on purpose.
2.	You must not lie to your fellow humans.
3.	You must never attempt to steal that which belongs to your fellow human.
4.	You are not to indulge in sexual abuse with any of your fellow human.
5.	You are not to consume intoxicants of any kind.

The Four Reminders of Buddhism
Buddhism seeks to remind you of the following four golden words always. Keeping the following commandments in mind, you can attain spiritual release in an easy way.
1.	Human life is a precious gift.
2.	Death is unavoidable.
3.	There is equal suffering in everybody’s existence.
4.	You cannot stay away from Karma.

The Ten Friends of every Human
Every human has the following Ten Friends or the ‘Paramitra’ to be kept with them always, as stated in Buddhism facts. They are:
1.	A generous nature
2.	Morality, ethics and a lawful spirit
3.	Staying detached to all worldly objects
4.	Intelligence and wit
5.	Hard work, dedication and boundless energy
6.	A patient soul
7.	Staying honest and true
8.	Determination to do good
9.	A kind nature
10.	Calmness and composure

The Five Enemies of every Human
Likewise every human has the following Five Enemies that they must stay away from, as asserted in the Buddhist texts. They are:
1.	Sensual desires and craving
2.	Anger and the human ego
3.	Hatred and animosity
4.	A worried spirit
5.	Doubt and misgivings

The Five Powerful Tools Available to every Human
Buddhism maintains that no matter how much suffering life has to offer, every human has the following Five Powers available that can ease sorrow. They are:
1.	Belief in Buddhism
2.	Intelligence and wisdom
3.	Samadhi or nirvana
4.	Mindfulness and alertness
5.	Vitality and a determined spirit

By following the Buddhism facts stated above, you too can become or transform into a Buddhist follower. After all, this religion is all about yoga, nirvana and spiritual awareness – dire traits that everyone in the world needs today.

Buddhism is one of the major religion of the world and it has been estimated that there are almost 350-500 million Buddhist followers in the world. Though the religion is most popular in Asia but it’s followers are found all over the globe. This religion is founded by Gautama Buddha (Siddhartha) and this religion encompasses large number of traditions, practices and faiths. The Buddhism beliefs are mostly based upon the teachings of Gautama Buddha. So, some of the basic Buddhism Beliefs are -

1) Gautama Buddha is no God at all – It was believed in this religion that Gautama Buddha was an ordinary man who was living in Nepal(now) some 2,500 years ago. He had different vision towards the life and because of this he had gone over common man views, concepts and beliefs. It is not a do or die condition for every Buddhist to follow the rules set by Buddha and they can find their own wisdom towards life.

2) Think before believe – Buddhists don’t need to believe what they read or listen from others, instead it is believed that every person should test each and everything with his own conscience and then only trust the things.

3) Celestial Bodies or Gods are the result of culture – In Buddhism beliefs it is also considered that Gods are due to one’s culture and they are conceptual only. But it doesn’t mean that the religion favors atheism. In fact it enlightens more on the true meaning towards spiritual practices.

4) The life’s ambition – In Buddhism beliefs it is firmly believed that to end the sufferings of humans as well as animals should be the sole motive of one’s life and this should be the only true ambition of life.

5) Your this life doings decide your afterlife – Reincarnation(rebirth) is believed in almost all the major religions and Buddhists believe that if you commit wrong and atrocious behavior then you have to suffer in your upcoming rebirths. But you can overcome from this if you can educate and meditate yourself in order to escape from the life’s cycle. This whole process is known as Nirvana.

6) Believe on Great Teachers – Buddhism beliefs lie heavily on the teachings of great teachers and it is always recommended to read important books and to listen good teachers.

7) Meditation leads to success – Without maintaining complete harmony and peace in the mind and body, no one can see beyond the life. So meditation is very essential thing in finding the path to Nirvana. It should be practiced on regular basis in life. It is also believed that it increases the inner power and conscience of humans.

Heal your wounds through the mind – Buddhism beliefs consider that most of the problems are only due to internal thinking of a man. So, if you want better health and mind then try to relax your mind. It will heal your wounds completely. Meditation and prayers help in achieving the same.

9) Believe in yourself – It depends upon you that how you build your life. One should believe in himself/herself and try not to lose the hope. It is only you who can make your life better and end the sufferings.

10) Bodies are valuable – Taking birth as a human is the most precious gift and you should not waste your life in doing outrageous things. Give some meaning to your life as the human life is very precious. Try to keep yourself healthy and strong. It is further believed that human bodies are the most divine thing on this earth. So, maintain this valuable thing from the core of your heart.

11) Trust your spiritual community – There is no need to go to any holy place or shrine to meditate and learn Buddhism beliefs. But it is always beneficial to remain in the touch of your spiritual community as it can provide you with more deeper understanding of the life. Your life can be more meaningful and delightful in the touch of your spiritual community.

12) Everything is interconnected – This is amongst one of the major and most reverenced Buddhism beliefs that everything in this world is interconnected. Nothing has individual existence. Every human, animal, thing and even physical laws are interconnected. Nothing can survive alone and emptiness(individual existence) is not permanent.

13) Always try to be good – It is your Karma or doing that finally effects your living. If you do good with others then you will get good things in return but if your deeds go wrong then it ultimately harms you. Five principles need to be followed for healthy and prosperous living. These five doctrines are –
a) Never tell a lie.
b) Never deceive anyone.
c) Never hurt or kill any one.
d) Do not hurt anyone sexually.
e) Try not to accommodate toxic thinking into your mind.

14) Be Benevolent Always – Benevolence is always beneficial for humans. Being kind and compassionate not only increases the power of our mind and body but it also gives more wiser look towards the life. You can achieve more wisdom and better meaning of human behavior.

15) Motivation and attachment is more important than the sex – In Buddhism beliefs, act of sex is less important and more important thing is with whom you perform it. Its your attachment and situation that lead you in that act.

16) Aim for Evenness – Always try to remain even in all the situations, showing human emotions like laughter, sadness, anger, etc. is not good. Calm nature let you achieve almost everything silently in the most appropriate way. So, always look for balance in your life.

17) Start at any stage of the life – According to Buddhism beliefs, you can achieve Nirvana at any stage of life and it is said that the process of understanding is very fast. But some Buddhist schools have different thinking and they believe that it can take several lives.

Besides these beliefs there are numerous other assumptions in the Buddhist religion and all are equally important. After all, it totally depends upon you that how you take your life. Prayers and meditations can only play a part in purifying your soul.

Zen Buddhism is based on the practice of meditation to achieve enlightenment status. Known simply as Zen, this form of Buddhism began formalization in China way back in the 6 C.E. and its founding is attributed to Bodhidharma, an Indian monk who introduced it to the Chinese. Zen spread quickly in China and flourished during the ‘Golden Age’, and was introduced to Japan and Korea by 13th Century.

During it’s early years of practice, Zen drew a lot of influences from the Taoism religion that was already widespread in China. For this reason, it is considered a combination of Mahayana Buddhism and Taoism. When it was taken to Japan in the thirteenth century, it took some time to catch on but became the most prominent Buddhism sect by the 16th century.

It’s often difficult to explain the concept of Zen. But first, the word Zen itself is the Japanese term for ‘meditation’. The Chinese equivalent for Zen is “Ch’an”. The practice of Zen Buddhism differs in some ways to traditional Buddhism. While the focus of Zen is to achieve a state of enlightenment through meditation, traditional Buddhism actually places a lot of emphasis on the need for high self-discipline combined with meditation and instruction. And while Zen believes that enlightenment can happen to human beings while still alive, traditional Buddhism only believes in after-death enlightenment.

Lately, Zen has gained much acceptance in the west and several schools teaching the practice exist in Europe and North America. But it was not until after the Second World War that the West began to embrace Zen which has five distinctive schools, two of them known as Soto and Rinzai in Japanese.

In china, Japan, Korea and Vietnam, Zen has great impact today on the people’s way of life. It has influenced their music, poetry, art and even ways of arranging flowers. This is also taking root in the West.

Zen Buddhism Beliefs and Principles as Practiced

Zen emphasizes on the need to be spontaneous in thought. While meditating, one should not await enlightenment, but rather expect it to happen spontaneously. In practice, people will just “sit” and try to clear the mind of any distracting thoughts. This would be so as to focus completely on the ultimate aim: discovery of oneself. To achieve this, the mind has to very clear but still not attempt to reason out.

The essence of Zen Buddhism is centered on self-knowledge. It is believed that a human being is a Buddha, or simply truly human in nature. The Buddha must look within them, as that is only where the truth lies. The truth cannot exist outside of oneself. This means that all questions we ask of ourselves as human beings have the answers – the enlightmet within us.

There’s also a lot of emphasis on the need for simplicity. Simplicity exists within nature, and it works to stimulate the mind and the emotions. For instance, a beautifully done silver plate would do great in pleasing the human senses, whereas a simple, roughly finished wooden plate owned by a poor person would arouse the emotions to bring out true human feelings.

Human beings have the need to discover themselves, and this truth already exists. As such, Zen does not believe in the use of spiritual scriptures or performing religious rights and rituals, which will in the end, not lead to the discovery of any truth. It is actually all about what people do, something that cannot be described in words. Zen considers using words for explanation as a form of slavery.

Apart from the bar on using words, the pupil is also advised not to try out rationalizing as a means of finding the truth. In that case, intellectual thinking and philosophical reasoning methods are strongly prohibited. Only by engaging the mind to look inside oneself can the truth be discovered. And it doesn’t matter how long it takes for that to happen. Pupils who go contrary to this principle incur the wrath of their masters, who may resort to a degree physical violence in an attempt discipline them.

Learning Zen

As books and other written forms should not be used to learn Zen Buddhism, the only true and accepted way for a student to master Ch’an is through a teacher. These teachers, if genuine have the ability trace their own lineage of teachers all the way back to the Bodhidharna, who is considered my many as the father of the practice. They could also trace their lineage even father backwards to the Historical Buddha. Of course, all this is based on faith.

The teachers only accept the modest term “teacher” and not “master” as many people who do not understand Zen like to call them. This fact can be a defining factor in distinguishing genuine teachers from the fake ones; anyone claiming to be a master is highly unlikely to be genuine. Still, a lot of learning and reference material is available on the web and in the form of books in the West.

Pupils of Zen are taught to approach truth and enlightenment by their mental actions and steer away from intellectual or philosophical efforts. Some schools believe in spontaneous occurrences of enlightenment, while others believe this to be a continuous process.

Zazen Meditation

“Zazen” is a Japanese word that represents the meditation practice. This forms the foundation on which Zen is entirely based on. While Zazen can be learned through books and instructive videos, the best way to improve on it is by doing it together with other people to get even more absorbed.

Beginners first learn breathing techniques that are necessary for maximizing concentration. This is not so easy to achieve and take a few months to reach a great level of ability to concentrate. Once the desired level is reached, the next action is to just sit, or study koan (involving face-face presentation of a case to a student by a teacher. Intellect should not, and cannot be used to solve this). Zazen is an important part of Zen Buddhism as this is how mind-training occurs, leading to an intimate path of self discovery and enlightenment.

We understand the levels upon which people function such as the physical, intuitive, intellectual, or emotional. At any given time, we are drawing from one or several levels at the same moment, and probably without knowing which state is motivating our thoughts or actions.

Within this busy state we also have the hard-to-control and mischievous mind doing the work of investigation, goading, teasing, remembering and projecting.

Buddhist meditation techniques are tools that are used to focus the attention on quieting oneself sufficient to feel the vastness within which one exists. This vastness, along with the tiniest atom in your body, are one and the same.

The sensation of universal vastness and atom-sized smallness can be experienced in meditation. When one looks for it, one will never know it. Meditation is a process to wash away the individual grasping and ownership, sufficient to experience the Oneness.

Chanting is a well-known technique that can hold the mind to attention in order detect the Oneness. The well-known Om Mani Padme Hum, often understood by Westerners as a translation into The Jewel is in the Lotus, may be a chant to use to focus the mind.

Watching the breath can be very effective. One can manipulate the breath and inhale or exhale in pattern to further employ the mind and maintaining the attention that is required. One doesn’t want the mind to be busy, one wants the mind to be attentive.

Another Buddhist meditation technique that is effective is to quiet the mind. With practice, one will become aware of when the mind is calming. When this state has been reached, be aware of your presence within the room you sit, then expand this awareness to your house, then your street, then your town, then your county, then state, that country, then Earth, then Galaxy, then Universe, and just keep going.

The time will be well invested in opening the possibilities of reality.

Buddhist Culture is known as one of the oldest cultures in the world. It’s more than twenty-five centuries old. The ideals and idea of Buddhists have guided innumerable people around the globe. Buddhism culture is principally related to the knowledge of “Siddhartha Gautama” popularly known as “Buddha”. The names of two most important branches of Buddhism are “Theravada” and “Mahayana”. In the ancient times people did not use the statues of Buddha for worship. Instead, they preferred to symbolize the Buddha. Some basic Buddhism symbols are Buddha’s footprint, stupa, dharma wheel and the lotus. As Buddhism ideas spread around the globe, it also helped Buddhism symbols to reach many new and different people.

The most common Buddhism symbol is the Buddha’s footprint. According to Buddhists these footprints of the Buddha symbolize the bodily occurrence of the Lord. These images were reproduced from ancient stones at Bodh Gaya, India. It is the place of Buddha’s enlightenment. This Buddhism symbol has some more symbols within it like swastikas, lotuses and dharma-wheels. These footprints exist in many countries like India, China, Japan, Singapore and Sri Lanka. According to traditions, the legend of Buddhists say that after the Buddha attained enlightenment, his foot created an impression in the pebble where he stepped.

Another Buddhism symbol is stupa. The basic meaning of stupa is “heap”. It is a structure like knoll which contains Buddhist leftovers. So in this way these stupas are very holy for these people. These stupas are vitally made up of five constituent parts. Each part has its own meaning and representation. There is a square base in stupa which represents earth. The hemispherical part represents water. The conical portion represents fire. There is a crescent moon which is the symbol of air and the dissolving point as well as the circular disc which represents space.

The Lotus and the Dharma-wheel are the other parts of these symbols. The lotus is deep-rooted in mud however the blossom is open in the sun. It appears very good-looking and fragrant. In Buddhism the lotus represents the real character of beings, who ascend through “samsara” (“samsara” is a process of defining the cycle of birth, death and rebirth in Buddhism and Hinduism) into the simplicity and magnificence of enlightenment. Dharma-wheel contains eight spokes. They represent the eightfold path. According to traditions, it symbolizes the Buddha’s spinning the Wheel of Law or reality.

Some other important Buddhism Symbols are various colors. The special five colors are white, yellow, red, blue and green. Like white color is considered to include an extremely chilly quality, as in snow, or a very burning quality, such as a flaming metal. Either can threaten life as well as it reminds us of bereavement with the ending of things. It also represents cleanliness, holiness and purity. Moreover it also tells us to lead out further than the dimness of bondage. These colors symbolize a condition of mind. It is well-believed that spiritual transformations can be achieved with the help of meditation on these different colors.

If you are trying to find spiritual symbols then you need not go anywhere. You are surrounded by spiritual symbols and they are touching your life either directly or indirectly. Still most people do not understand this fact because they do not have a lot of knowledge about it. Each spiritual symbol has its own meaning and representation. Anything related to our spirit generates curiosity. We are always eager to know how these things are affecting our life because they are not visible. If we talk about spiritual symbols then some questions come to our mind and this is natural. What is the meaning of spiritual symbols? How does it make any difference in our life? Do they really exist or are they a myth? However I would like to mention that the upshot of spiritual symbols can only be felt. We are not always able to see it physically. Our inner spirit talks to us with the help of these symbols without using a word. With the help of these spiritual symbols our inner spirit is able to communicate with our mind. It tells us the difference between a right path and the wrong path in our life. You can find spiritual symbols in art, architecture and various religions.

Ever since primeval times people have used art to convey life on earth. There is also the utilization of easy shapes like spiritual symbols. Some simple shapes like sphere, square and triangles have different meanings. The sphere is the representation of corona on the top of angels. In view of the fact that a sphere does not have any starting and ending point, it therefore represents infinity. The square is the representation of shelter, hardness and protection. The triangle is the sign of holy trinity. Directing up it represents the rise up to paradise and directing down the triangle represents grace sliding down from paradise.

In the proportions of a lot of structures particularly blessed ones it was supposed that the utilization of certain geometric plans would fill up the construction by resources of blessed energy. Tombs were in the early days, the passage to the afterlife. They were constructed with care thus the departed would have everything that was required on the journey between the material world and the afterlife. Symbolism was cautiously selected to make sure that the journey would be safe. Stone circles were utilized as astrological markers, for worship, and represented the outer space observation or mother earth. Churches as well as temples are constructed to grip the holy knowledge and to motivate religious living. They tell the stories of religiously momentous actions in the paintings, sculptures and good-looking stained glass windows. These structures were constructed to represent the space as a whole.

Similarly we have different religions in the world and each religion has its own spiritual symbols. The Bible is full of spiritual symbols in the form of numbers. According to The Bible numbers can be used as the measurement of distance, time, age and quantity. Like the number 1 tells that what is genuine and what is perfect. Similarly number 2 tells that kindness and truth are tied together and so on. In the same way different religions have different spiritual symbols.

Merkaba meditation is a meditation technique of controlled breathing consisting of eighteen steps. Merkaba means light, spirit and body or the body and spirit wrapped in light. Merkaba is a counter rotating field of light generated by two interposed tetrahedrons. Imagine a three dimensional Star of David. Learning to access your Merkaba can help you achieve greater peace within your self along with achieving a higher plane of existence and the ability to communicate with those that have reached Enlightenment and Transcendence.

The Merkaba meditation will allow you to realign the geometric crystal energy field that is supposed to rotate around you at the speed of light providing you with the ability to align your heart, mind and body together for the greatest results. Most of us have had their energy fields greatly depleted through lack of knowledge and use. By taking a Flower of Life meditation course you will come to know the geometric fields (star tetrahedron), and actually feel them around your body. These fields can be activated through our own breathing.

Using the Merkaba will enable you to reach your Higher Self and experience Divine Love which will allow you to make full use of the energy fields in every day life. There are seventeen steps to the Flower of Life Merkaba course. Each of the seventeen breaths has a different mudra (hand position) and meditation you must hold in your mind. For example, during breath one (inhalation) you are instructed to lightly hold your index finger and thumb together while not touching the other fingers to anything and having your palms up. While doing this you are to open your hear to love for all life and be aware of the male tetrahedron. There are similar instructions for the remaining sixteen breaths. To fully appreciate and learn Merkaba meditation you need the services of a trained facilitator.

The oldest religion on this planet is Hinduism. It has no beginning and this religion moved ahead with recorded history. It has no individual founder. It is a spiritual religion which leads the devotee to experience the existence of God from heart and soul. It is a very vast religion and Hinduism beliefs are as old as Hinduism religion. However on the whole it has these nine beliefs.

1. Hindus first belief is in the theology of the “Vedas”. It is the most antique scripture in the world. “Veda” is a word which has come from Sanskrit language. The basic meaning of Veda is knowledge. According to Hinduism beliefs these primeval hymns are God’s speech and the foundation of Sanatana Dharma (a sub-religion in Hinduism), the everlasting belief which has neither starting nor endings.

2. The next is the faith on only one supreme power that is both inspiring and immanent. Hinduism believes that there is merely one premier supreme called “Brahman”. However it does not say to worship a particular deity. There are millions of gods and goddesses in Hinduism belief and everyone is on the behalf of the numerous aspects of Brahman. Therefore, this faith is characterized by the multiplicity of deities. The most primary Hindu deities are the Trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.

3. Hindu people believe that this world undergoes endless cycles of creation, perpetuation and termination.

4. People following Hindu religion believe in karma (right action). Whatever good or bad things you do in your life you will get back according to that. It is with the help of your karma through which you create your own destiny.

5. Hinduism belief says that divine beings continue living in an invisible world and the temple worship as well as individual devotionals creates a communication between you and God.

6. Hinduism believes in the reincarnation system. It evolves through many births until all karmas have been resolute and moksha is the process of getting free of the cycle of rebirth.

7. The followers of Hinduism believe that you need a spiritually awakened teacher in your life. They are able to tell you the way to get free from the cycle of rebirth.

8. Hinduism belief advises that every life in this world is holy and each life should be loved. That’s the reason they believe in the practice of no injury to anyone. This is known as ahinsa.

9. The followers of Hinduism believe that no particular religion tells the only path to salvation over each and every one but all the authentic religious ways are related to God. Every religion tells us to give respect to others so everyone is equal.

So these are the basic Hinduism beliefs however it is varied and wide. The essential thoughts of this religion are based on the principles written by saints of ancient times.

According to traditions of Tibet, beads are used to brawl with devils and bad spirits. The colors and designs in the beads have their own symbolic meaning. It is also very important for feng shui because these colors stand for a number of diverse key elements.

Tibetan beads are as old as Tibetan Culture. It’s more than 2000 years since these beads came into existence. People in Tibet believe that these beads protect them from various harms. They say that these beads take a curse on themselves. They also believe that beads chose their owner themselves. They do not stay with a person who does not follow the principles of God. These beads were originated from the Himalaya Mountains and Tibet.

It’s thousands of years ago when Dzi (pronounced as “zee”) beads came to the Tibetan Culture. Dzi is a gemstone which is a treasure of magic power. It comes with different types of symbols in the stone with different sizes. The origin of Dzi is the land of mythical Buddhist lamas. Most of them belong to Tibet. This stone contains the healing power. It often brings prosperity, good fortune, wealth and good health to the owner. It protects you from misfortunes, sickness and sudden death. It keeps you away from negative thoughts and energies. Dzi is a shining stone usually in the form of a circle with certain wave patterns. The different patterns in Dzi beads are for different purposes. There is a one-eyed Dzi bead which people use to increase their wisdom. Two-eyed Dzi is for your good love relationship. Nine-eyed Dzi beads are to take the blessings. It also gives you good luck and removes obstacles in the journey of life. It protects you from misfortunes and negativities. A thirteen-eyed Dzi bead is for the promotion of serenity and tranquility and a fifteen-eyed Dzi gives you heaven’s luck. It gives you a smooth life without obstructions. A twenty-one eyed Dzi helps you to fulfill your wishes and enhance your fame and fortune.

These Dzi beads can be used by everyone because they are not for a particular religion. The main purpose of these beads is to help human beings. Dzi beads can be set up as a fraction of dissimilar ornaments although in their beginning they were primarily added to costume jewelry and it can also be found on some women’s ornaments. Jewelry has a major importance in Tibetan life because it shows the status of a person in society.

Prayer beads are also an important part of Tibetan beads. They count each bead while doing their prayers. It reduces anxiety and it also brings calm to the nerves. These beads are made up of wood, marble and various types of polished stones. Tibetan Buddhists use 108 traditional breads which is equal to the number of “mantras” (mantras are the sentences of prayers) used by them in their religion.

I will detail the actual meditation steps in the Reiki way to open and clear your energy centers. This will balance your higher frequency energy and help to release any negative energy from your body.

Designate a place in your home where you will be completely undisturbed for at least 30 minutes at any time. Sit in a comfortable chair and close your eyes while focusing on regulating your breathing in a rhythmic way. Begin your chakra balancing meditation by starting with the first chakra. Your first focus will be on your base chakra or Root – visualize a RED clockwise spinning ball. Concentrate on breathing in red and breathing out red for two to three minutes. You want to see the energy flowing from the spinning red ball down through your legs into the earth (grounding you).

The second chakra is the Sacral chakra. Envision an orange ball spinning clockwise as well and breathe orange in and out for two to three minutes. The third chakra is the Solar Plexus designated by a bright yellow clockwise spinning ball again spending two to three minutes breathing yellow.

The fourth chakra is the Heart chakra. Use the image of a bright green ball spinning clockwise while breathing green rhythmically for the aforementioned time span. The fifth chakra is the Throat chakra – imagine a bright blue ball spinning clockwise again and breathing regularly for the two to three minute span. Make sure you are seeing the blue ball’s energy entering at the Throat chakra and flowing out each arm.

The sixth chakra is the Third Eye chakra. This will utilize an indigo ball spinning clockwise as your focus. Your brow is the focus for the two to three minutes you are breathing the indigo energy in and out. The final chakra is the Crown chakra with a violet clockwise spinning ball focusing your attention to create an image of a violet lotus blooming on your Crown chakra.
